On Saturday May 7, 2011, at 2:54 pm, Boston Police officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) and MBTA Transit Police received a radio call for a person shot at 121 Savin Hill Ave (Savin Hill MBTA station). On arrival, officers located a white male suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center was soon pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. The victim has since been identified as 19 year old Derek Matulina of Dorchester.
Boston Police Homicide detectives, in conjunction with the MBTA Transit Police, are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. The Boston Police Homicide Unit urges anyone with information to please contact detectives at (617) 343-4470.
