Early this morning around 2:46AM, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) arrested suspects, Kalise Fitzgerald, 28, of Roxbury and Tyler A. Kee , 20 of Roslindale charged them Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling.  Suspect, Skilar Morris, 18, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition,  Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling, Failure to Stop for Police Officer/Refusal to Submit, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Being Licensed, Driving to Endanger, Resisting Arrest, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

The suspects’ arrests came as a result of a call to investigate a person at 34 Logan Way in South Boston where the victims reported that one of the suspects was banging on their door and making threats. The first officer to arrive on scene heard one to two gunshots coming from Sterling Square and almost immediately thereafter observed a small black motor vehicle fleeing from the scene at a high rate of speed. It should be noted that there were no other cars in the area or persons at this time.  The officer broadcast a description of the suspect motor vehicle and activated lights and sirens in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The car briefly came to a stop at Kemp St. and Dorchester Ave. and then took off at a high rate of speed before officers could approach the car. Numerous units followed the car based on the nature of the incident but the car refused to stop for officers.  While following the car, officers observed a dark object get thrown from the car as it kept going.

The car continued to drive at a high rate of speed until it lost control at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. and Glynn Way and struck an unoccupied car. There, one of the three suspects fled from the car and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Suspect, Skilar Morris, the driver of the motor vehicle resisted being arrested by spitting officers on officers and kicking them.

Officers returned to the scene of the shooting and there located a motor vehicle that had been struck when the shots fired and a shell casing. Officers again spoke to the victims who reported that shortly after they heard the knocking on their door they observed two male and a female yelling to open the door. One of the victims reported that the police was called, and the suspects left the area in a black Honda with tinted windows. The victims reported that they heard gunshots around the same time that the suspects were seen leaving the area in the dark car.

Officers also returned to the location where they had observed the object thrown from the car and were able, after a short investigation, to find the gun and magazine that was thrown from the car.
