Early this morning around 1:05AM, officers from District A-1 (Boston) responded to 99 8^th Street in Charlestown for a drowning/person in the water.

On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who reported that she believed that a male had fallen off the Pier 6 and into the Boston Harbor. The Boston Police Harbor Unit along with the Boston Fire Harbor Unit responded to the scene and retrieved an adult male victim from the water. The victim was treated on scene by EMS and subsequently transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced at 2:43AM.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating this incident.
