POLICE ARREST ONE FOR GUN POSSESSION

At about 12:52am, on Sunday, May 16, 2010, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) observed a gray motor vehicle leaving the scene of a firearm arrest in the area of Winston Road. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment in an effort to stop the car. When the motor vehicle came to a stop, officers approached the car. Officers then instructed the occupants (one driver and two passengers) to exit the motor vehicle. Once outside the car, the occupants were asked if anyone was in possession of any weapons. In answer to that question, one of the occupants replied, “I got something in my pocket.” A pat frisk of the suspect enabled officers to locate and take possession of a firearm. When asked to produce a license to carry, the suspect stated, “I don’t have one.”

As a result of the discovery, officers arrested Austin Dillon, 23, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and the Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

POLICE ARREST TWO, RECOVER TWO FIREARMS

At approximately 8:30pm, on Sunday, May 16, 2010, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) and members of the Youth Violence Strike Force received information regarding a party and possible violence at a location near the corner of Park & Spencer Streets. At approximately 8:40pm, officers who were conducting the surveillance, observed three individuals approach the area on foot. While watching the suspects, officers observed one of the individuals clutch at his waist area in such a way as to suggest he was in possession of a firearm. As a result of observations made, officers approached the individuals, but, as they were approaching, the individuals jumped into a car and drove off. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and attempted to stop the car. Initially, the operator stopped, but as officers approached, the motor vehicle took off. While following behind the car, officers observed a rear door open and, possibly, something get tossed from the car. When the car did stop, all of the occupants exited the car and took off on foot. Officers were able to run down and apprehend two of the occupants. A search of the area enabled officers to locate and take possession of two firearms.

Officers arrested and Jamaine Burton, 20, of Boston and Lorenzo Grayson, 20, of Boston and charged both with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Trespassing.

WAIT ‘TIL WE GET OUR ‘HANES’ ON YOU

At about 2:01am, on Monday, May 17, 2010, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a breaking & entering at 395 Ashmont Street. According to the caller, the intruder was still inside the location. On arrival, officers entered the premise and located the caller. The caller quickly told officers that the intruder was still in his living room. When officers entered the living room, officers observed a white male wearing only a white t-shirt and underwear. When officers attempted to remove the suspect, the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated, became combative and began yelling obscenities at the officers. Officers later learned that the suspect, who was attending a party in the building, accidentally entered the caller’s apartment and undressed as if it was his home.

Officers arrested John Carchia, 28, of Boston and charged him with Disturbing the Peace.
