Approximately 3:57PM on Monday, March 22, 2010, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to the corner of Lennox and Tremont Streets for an armed robbery in progress.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported to officers that he had just been robbed at knife-point by four black males wearing all black. The victim reported to officers that he was grabbed from behind while walking on the sidewalk at the corner of Shawmut Ave. and Lennox Street. The victim further reported that one of the suspects put a knife to his rib cage area and exclaimed “Give me what I just saw!” The victim reported that, just prior to being approached by the suspects, he had been counting his money while walking down the street. Per the victim, the suspects took $15 from his pocket then walked away up Kendall St, all the while laughing at his expense.
The victim was able to hail a cab almost right after being robbed and the cab driver called 911 on his behalf. Based on the suspects’ description, and direction of flight, officers within a short time observed two males matching the suspects’ description at the intersection of Lennox and Kendall Streets. The two individuals, upon observing that officers were looking in their direction, quickly turned away and attempted to get away. Officers pursued the two suspects and successfully stopped them within a short distance. One of the two suspects was found to be in possession of a knife during a pat frisk.
The two suspects, Christopher J. Dejarnette, 18, and Marcus A. Perry, 18, both of Roxbury were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. The victim was brought o the station and was able to successfully identify a third suspect through a photo array and at about 6:10PM, officers arrested the third suspect, Von D. Cameron, 20 also of Roxbury and also charged him with the same offenses, Armed Robbery and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
