Three Suspects Arrested Pursuant to Execution of Search WarrantLast night, Saturday, September 27, 2008 around 7:13PM, members of the District E-5 (West Roxbury) drug unit executed a search warrant at 41B Vershire St. in West Roxbury as a result of an ongoing drug investigation.
During the execution of that search warrant, officers recovered over $6,000 of cash, seventy Oxycontin pills, a large amount of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana, and several items used in drug dealing and packaging.
As a result the execution of the search warrant, officers arrested suspect, Joseph Phinney, 20, of West Roxbury and charged him with Trafficking Class B. Suspect, Jean C. Moreira, 19, of Roslindale was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. Suspect, Frederick Jackson, 19, of West Roxbury was arrested and charged with Possession of Class B.
Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested with Stolen Goods
Last night around 8:01PM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to 38 Wayne St. for an armed robbery.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim and a witness who reported that they were walking on Blue Hill Ave. at the intersection of Wayne St. when a suspect riding a bicycle approached them. The suspect confronted the victim and the witness and stated, “Give me your phone!” The victim reported that she told the suspect that she was not giving him her phone when the suspect lifted his shirt and her friend exclaimed, “He’s got a gun!” The victim, believing that the suspect was armed, handed the suspect two cell phones that she had. The victim and witness provided officers with a description of the suspect and the bicycle that the suspect was riding.
About twenty minutes later, officers were patrolling the area of Columbia Rd. and Devon St. when they observed an individual matching the suspect description on a bicycle. The suspect, upon seeing officers immediately tried pedaling away but was stopped by officers to conduct further investigation. The suspect was stopped and a threshold inquiry conducted during which the two phones stolen from the victim were recovered.
The suspect was returned to the scene for a possible identification by the victim. At the scene, the victim positively identified the suspect as the person who robbed him. The suspect, a 14-year-old male juvenile from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
Two Arrested for Showing No Class at Boston Harbor Hotel
This morning at around 1:30AM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) arrested suspects, Jennifer L. Miller, 36, and John T. Miller, 41 both of Southlake, TX and charged them with Disturbing the Peace, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Trespass. At the booking desk, Jennifer L. Miller was further charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon: Shod Foot.
Officers were initially requested to the Boston Harbor Hotel located at 70 Rowes Wharf in Boston to assist security with two unruly hotel guests who were assaulting hotel security. On arrival, officers spoke to hotel personnel who reported to officers that the suspects needed to be escorted out of the hotel due to their behavior. Officers responded to the suspects’ room to further investigate the incident. At the room, officers soon learned why the suspects had been asked to leave. The suspects were hostile, rude and confrontational and used profane and racist derogatory language toward the hotel staff and officers. The suspects were told by officers that they needed to leave based on their unruly behavior, and the fact that they were making such a scene that other hotel guests could not indulge the quiet enjoyment of their room. The suspects refused to leave after being asked several times and continued to berate the officers and hotel staff with continued use of profanity and racist derogatory language. While officers continued top mediate the situation to get the suspects to leave the hotel in a peaceful manner, suspect, John T. Miller bumped into officers several times in a combative manner despite being warned that he could be arrested for doing so.
After some time, officers convinced both suspects to gather their belongings and exit the hotel room. The suspects, upon leaving their room, continued their loud and unruly actions while walking the hallway causing several hotel guests to exit their room and see the cause of the disturbance. As a result of her ongoing use of profanity, loud, and unruly behavior suspect, Jennifer Miller was placed under arrests in the lobby of the hotel and charged with Disturbing the Peace. Outside the hotel, suspect, John T. Miller, continued to be verbally and physically assaultive with both officers and hotel staff and refused to leave the area after numerous requests. Suspect, John T. Miller, was then arrested and charged Disturbing the Peace, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Assault and Battery on the hotel security.
