On September 28, 2008 at approximately 9:32pm, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun at 10 Emerson Place. On arrival, officers secured the building and assisted with the exit of several residents and guests. Officers also did the same for the residents on the 20th floor. The Boston Police Entry Team responded, secured the apartment and then entered without incident.When officers entered, they first observed a white female lying unresponsive. Officers also observed an unresponsive white male in the apartment. Both victims were pronounced on scene.
A preliminary investigation has indicated that this incident is an apparent murder-suicide involving a husband and wife. The victims have been identified as 61 year old Christian Mogensen and his wife 60 year old Sharon Glassman, both of Boston. Victims appeared to be suffering from a gun shot wound. Homicide detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
