MURDER SUSPECT IN POLICE CUSTODYAt about 11:15pm, on Friday, September 5, 2008, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call to investigate a person, possibly unconscious, inside an apartment building located at 127 Amory Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located a female, in her 50’s, suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. The victim was promptly transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital where she was later pronounced. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notifications and an autopsy report.
In the course of the investigation, Boston Police Homicide detectives were able to locate and identify a suspect in this incident. Officers arrested Charles Cherry, 66, of Roxbury and charged him with Murder.
