SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DRIVING ON A WALKWAYAt about 5:15pm, on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) observed a motor vehicle driving along a pedestrian walkway inside the East Boston Memorial Park. As the name of the path suggests, it is designed and designated for pedestrian traffic only. When officers observed the motor vehicle driving in the restricted area, officers immediately stopped the car. When asked to produce a license and registration, the operator of the motor vehicle, instead, presented a Liquor ID card. When asked to explain how she ended up on a pedestrian walkway, the operator had no explanation. While speaking to the operator, officers were able to detect an odor of alcohol. Additionally, officers noticed that the suspect was slurring her speech. When asked if she had been drinking, the operator replied, “Yes .. very little .. (but) .. I’m okay to drive.” A query of the operator’s license showed that her license to operate had been suspended. When officers placed the suspect under arrest, she became increasingly belligerent and verbally abusive towards the officers. At one point, the suspect kicked one of the officers.
Officers arrested Marianne Graziani, 40, of Quincy and charged her with Operating Under the Influence, Operating without a License and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer.
GEORGE FOREMAN WOULD NOT BE HAPPY
At about 7:52pm, on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a disturbance in the area of 82 Bragdon Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that her upstairs’ neighbor was making an excessive amount of noise. The victim further stated, due to the noise, she went upstairs to confront her neighbor. According to the victim, a heated discussion ensued during which the suspect threw a grill at the victim. Victim tells officers that the grill hit her in the shoulder. Officers then arrested Grisselle Andujar, 26, of Roxbury and charged her with Assault & Battery By Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Grill).
PICK POCKETER ARRESTED DOWNTOWN
At about 8:55am, on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, officers, performing a paid detail at the intersection of Boylston and Dartmouth Streets, observed a woman screaming for help near the Copley MBTA Train Station. Officers further observed the victim chasing a suspect while screaming, “She stole my wallet.” According to the victim, she was entering the train station, walking down a flight of stairs when the suspect, walking up the stairs in the opposite direction, reached into her bag, grabbed her wallet and ran. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover the victim’s wallet. Officers then arrested Debra O’Brien, 39, of East Boston and charged her with Larceny from the Person (Pick Pocket).
