STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE IS LOST AND THEN FOUNDAt about 9:55pm, on Saturday, December 9, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) took a report for a stolen motor vehicle in front of 387 Columbia Road. According to the victim, he left his car running with the keys in the ignition in front of the above address. When he returned five minutes later, the car was gone. Three days later at about 2:16am, on Monday, December 11, 2007, officers from Area C-11 located the above stolen motor vehicle in the area of 245 Eustis Street. As officers were approaching the motor vehicle, officers observed an individual sitting in the front seat of the car. When officers asked the individual if he owned the car, the suspect stated, “It’s my friend\’s car and she just went to get gas because the car ran out of gas.” When officers asked the suspect to provide his friend’s name, suspect stated he could not. Officers arrested Rickey Elliot, 32, of Mattapan and charged him with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
CAR STOP LANDS TWO IN CUSTODY
At about 9:03pm, on Monday, December 10, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) initiated a traffic stop in the area of 37 Howe Street. A query of the registration revealed that the owner of the motor vehicle had a suspended license. When officers approached the car, they could detect an odor of marijuana coming from within the motor vehicle. When officers asked the operator about the smell, the operator replied,” I just bought a blunt.” A search of the suspect produced an undisclosed amount of marijuana. Officers arrested Andre Washington, 25, of Dorchester and charged him with the Possession of a Class D Drug (Marijuana).
Officers then performed an inventory search of the motor vehicle. While searching the car, officers discovered an empty firearm box. Inside the box, officers located an undisclosed amount of ammunition. When officers asked who owned the box, the passenger in the motor vehicle stated, “I do.” Officers arrested Shandrick Johnson, 26, of Roxbury and charged him with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE LANDS TWO IN JAIL
At about 7:11am, on Monday, December 10, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 1462 Washington Street. On arrival, officers knocked on the door of the apartment where the shot may have been fired. When occupants of the apartment answered the door, they attempted to prevent the officers from entering the location. Officers explained, given the serious nature of the call, they had to search the location. Upon entering the apartment, officers were able to identify the distinct smell of a firearm discharge. A search of the apartment produced a firearm. When asked about the firearm, one of the occupants stated, “I have that for protection.” Officers then arrested Crystal Claiborn, 26, of Boston and Jermaine Good, 34, of Boston and charged both with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. During the booking process, Ms. Claiborn stated, “I shot the gun off in the bathroom.” Ms. Claiborn further stated that the discharge was accidental.
