DAILY INCIDENTS FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2007

GUN RECOVERED IN ROXBURYAt about 1:35am, on Sunday December 9, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to Packy’s Bar in the area of 203 Blue Hill Avenue for a report of a several people fighting. On arrival, officers observed a black male who, upon seeing the officers, began to flee. As the individual was running, officers observed the suspect clutching at his waist area as if he were holding a firearm. While pursuing the suspect on foot, officers observed the suspect throw something to the ground. Officers searched the area where the suspect threw the object and recovered a firearm. Officers arrested Rashun Frazier, 33, of Mattapan and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
RUNNING UP A BILL AND THEN RUNNING OUT NEVER A SMART MOVE
At about 1:45am, on Sunday, December 9, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress in the area of 835 Beacon Street. On arrival, officers were approached by employees of the An Tua Nua bar who stated they were having trouble with a customer who refused to pay his bill. According to bar employees, the suspect charged up a bill and then attempted to pay with a bad credit card. When store employees told the customer that his card had been declined, the suspect fled the establishment. When officers asked the suspect why he couldn’t pay the bill, the suspect stated that his credit card had been stolen. When officers showed the suspect the card he had attempted to use to pay his bill, the suspect stated, ”That’s not mine.” The declined card was in the name of the suspect. Officers arrested William Maurice, 22, of Marblehead and charged him with Defrauding the Innkeeper.
STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE RECOVERED IN ROXBURY
At about 2:45am, on Monday, December 10, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed a motor vehicle with an open driver’s side window in the area of Howard Avenue and Wayland Street in Dorchester. Sensing the window may have been broken and the car stolen, officers performed a query of the motor vehicle’s registration. While checking the registration, officers were able to confirm that the car had, in fact, been reported stolen. As a result, officers approached the motor vehicle. Upon doing so, the operator of the motor vehicle exited the motor vehicle in an effort to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers arrested Lloyd Powell, 17, of Dorchester and charged him with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
