Operation Squeeze Nets Numerous Arrests for Sex for a Fee and FirearmToday around 1:00am, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) performed “Operation Squeeze” due to community complaints and as part of an ongoing effort to minimize street level prostitution and curtail the related effects of prostitution such as drug use, and other violent crimes. This operation will take place on a regular basis in the upcoming months to discourage “johns” and prostitutes from coming to the area.
This operation utilized plain-clothes police officers who were approached and solicited by the below noted individuals offering cash payment in exchange for sexual services.
During this operation officers arrested the following individuals.
1. Paul John-Baptiste, 27, of Lynn was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
2. Nicholas A. Taylor, 19, of Milton was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
3. William D. Reynolds, 27, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
4. Richard Mace, 19, of Quincy was arrested and charged with Sex for Fee.
5. Roosevelt Wilkins, 41, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
6. Hector Najera, 52, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
Sex for Fee Arrest Results in Firearm Arrest
This morning around 2:09am, officers while still engaged in the performance of “Operation Squeeze” stopped a motor vehicle after one of its occupants solicited sex from a plain-clothes officer in exchange for money. During this stop, officers observed the car to be occupied by five occupants including the individual who had solicited sex from the officer. Officers made note that there were several open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.
The occupants were removed from the vehicle while officers secured the open containers of alcohol in the car. During this process officers observed a black holster containing a firearm on the floor of the car. The firearm was removed from the car, and discovered to be loaded with the serial number obliterated. None of the occupants of the car had a license to carry a firearm and as such all were arrested.
Four occupants of the car of the car, Ronald Gerald, 39, of Dorchester, David Villegas, 35, of West Roxbury, Desmond M. DeFreitas, 46, of Boston, and Gerald Sam, 32, of Revere were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number.
B&E Suspect Arrested Inside Store
This morning around 1:34am, officers from District 5 (West Roxbury and Roslindale) responded to a radio call for a motion alarm at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 4600 Washington St. in Roslindale.
On arrival, officer checked the front entrance of the store and noted no signs of a forced entry. While checking the front entrance, officers heard a loud banging noise coming from the front of the store, and shortly thereafter noticed an individual run from the front of the store to the back. Officers then secured both entrances to the store and observed that the back door was open. Additional units responded, including a canine unit, and they were able to find the suspect hiding behind a generator in the electrical room.
The suspect was arrested and subsequent search of the store resulted in officers finding numerous store merchandise in the electrical room where the suspect was found. In addition, officers discovered a hammer next to an ATM machine in the store, that ATM had damage to it. During further search of the store, officers located a hole that had been hammered through a brick hall in the store. No other suspects were located in the store.
The suspect, Anthony L. Bell, 43, of Boston was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime.
Domestic Suspect Apprehended with Gun
About 4:15am, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 147 Wrentham St. for a person with a gun.
While en route, officers were met by the victim who reported that her ex-boyfriend had called her several times at work stating that he was inside her house, armed with a gun and that he was going to shoot her. On arrival, officers observed the described suspect exiting the front door of the victim’s house. Officers directed the suspect to stop but he ran back inside the victim’s house and locked the doors.
Offices secured a perimeter around the house, and requested additional units including a canine unit. After some time, officers negotiated with the suspect and were able to enter the apartment using the victim’s keys. Once inside, officers secured and placed the suspect under arrest. Officers subsequently recovered a firearm hidden in a toilet.
The suspect, Edwin M. Ortiz, 29, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Threats.
