Alert Officer Arrests Four in East Boston

Last night at 10:26pm officers assigned to District 7 received information about a vehicle in the Maverick Square area with occupants that were armed with knives and going to a fight. Seven minutes later an officer observed an occupied vehicle matching the description of the one broadcasted at Bremen and Gove Streets. This officer followed the vehicle and with the assistance of other officers stopped it at 86 Gove Street. After stopping the vehicle, the officer observed the suspects making furtive movements inside the vehicle. The officer removed the occupants of the vehicle, and discovered two machetes and several open bottles of beers. Further investigation revealed the driver of the car was operating after suspension for refusing a chemical test. All four were arrested: David Munguia, 26, of East Boston is charged with Operating After Suspension, Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried, and Procuring Alcohol for a Minor; Edwin Alexander, 28, of Everett is charged with Procuring Alcohol for a Minor; William Rodriguez, 25, of Revere is charged with Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried and Procuring Alcohol for a Minor; and a 14-year-old female is charged with Delinquency to wit: Possession of Alcoholic Beverage by a Person under 21.All four will be arraigned on Monday morning at the East Boston District Court.
