Early this morning between 6:30am and 10:00am, members of the Boston Police Department working in partnership with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, performed Operation Guardian Angel. This operation utilizes several police officers from each district along with MBTA Transit Police and Registry Inspectors to conduct inspections on vans used to transport children to and from school. During the operation a total of 110 vans were stopped and 115 violations were found. One individual was arrested, one was issued a criminal citation and four van operators were found to be driving without the proper 7D license, a license required to operate this type of van. The Boston Police Department is committed to keeping children safe and will continue to conduct inspections like these to ensure compliance with the law.
