Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney\’s Office have been in contact with Georgia authorities and have been assisting them in their investigation into the Clayton County homicides occurring on March 20. Two suspects wanted in connection with the murders were taken into custody in Georgia on March 23, 2006. A third suspect was believed to have fled to the Boston area.At 9:40am this morning, members of the Special Investigations Unit, The Youth Violence Strike Force and District 11 went to 5 Melbourne Street in Dorchester and arrested 21-year-old Gary Hakeem Brown without incident. Brown will be arraigned on Thursday in the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court on a charge of being a Fugitive from Justice. He will be turned over to Georgia authorities at that time.
None of the targets in the Georgia Investigation are charged with any Boston homicides. As such, the Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office will not comment as to any alleged connection to this city.
