Pair Arrested Vandalizing CarsTwo Boston men were arrested just after 2:00 this morning after they were observed smashing mirrors off the passenger side of seven parked cars along Parker Street in Roxbury. Michael Urban, 20 and Benjamin Sturm, 19 were walking down the street breaking the mirrors off of parked cars when a Housing Officer spotted them. The duo attempted to flee but the officer quickly caught up to them and took them into custody. Both are charged with Willful/Malicious Destruction of Property.
Alert Officer Recovers Gun After Foot Chase
About 12:55am this morning an officer from District 11 observed a male known to him walking along Washington Street in Dorchester. Based on information known to the police at the time, the officer exited his cruiser and walked towards the suspect to conduct an inquiry. Upon seeing the officer the suspect pulled a silver revolver from his pocket and began running from the officer. A foot chase ensued ending in the rear of 11 Claybourne Street. Kern Birkett, 22 of Dorchester was arrested and a loaded revolver was recovered.
Gun Recovered, One Arrested in Mattapan
Anti-crime officers form District 3 observed a car blocking traffic at Morton Street and Pleasant Hill Avenue yesterday around 5:26pm. The operator of the car, 17-year-old Asive Osborne of Dorchester, was questioned and a loaded .32 caliber handgun was recovered from his coat pocket. Osborne was arrested and will be in Dorchester Court on Monday.
Trio Arrested in Charlestown Drug Sting, Heroin, Crack Seized
Three people were arrested yesterday as part of an on-going narcotics investigation in Charlestown. Tairy Ramos, 23, Johanna Moreta, 26, and a male juvenile were taken into custody after District 1 Drug Unit officers executed a search warrant at 17 Polk Street, Charlestown. Seized pursuant to the warrant was a significant amount of heroin, over 128 grams, 41 bags of what is believed to be crack cocaine, and an assortment of about 58 pills. Officers also seized over $1300.00 cash and other paraphernalia. All three face drug trafficking charges.
