Three Arrested in South End for Possession of a Loaded FirearmYesterday afternoon at about 2:24pm, officers responded to 375 Columbus Avenue of a report of three males armed with guns. A witness provided the 9-1-1 operator with a detailed description of the suspects, which was broadcasted, to the responding officers. On scene, an officer from District 4 observed three people matching the description provided. All three were stopped and frisked, although no firearm was discovered. The witness provided additional information to the officers and stated that the suspects threw the firearm in the rear of 22 Yarmouth Street. Officers responded to that location and recovered a semiautomatic gun. Police arrested a 16-year-old male from Boston, Christopher Green, 20, of Boston, and Brian Cooper, 18, of Dorchester. All three will be arraigned on Monday morning at the Boston Municipal Court and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
Two Guns Recovered After Shots Fired on Columbia Road
Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force observed about 20 males in the parking lot of the Burger king on Columbia Road yesterday afternoon about to fight. As the officers approached the crowd, they heard multiple shots fired. The crowd dispersed in different directions while officers began chasing the armed suspect. After a lengthy foot chase, officers arrested Tyrone Hicks, 18, of Dorchester. Hicks was observed discarding a firearm while fleeing from the officer. The discarded firearm was recovered as well as another one on Washington Street. Hicks was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (second and subsequent offense), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Monday morning in Dorchester District Court.
Five Arrested in Stolen Car in Dorchester
This morning at about 2:06am, officers from District 11 responded to assist Bay Colony Security at the Boston Bowl. The security officers stated that they observed five males seated in a vehicle passing around a bottle of alcohol. As the security officers attempted to conduct a threshold inquiry, they observed the steering column and ignition damaged. All five were placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property. The following people will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Monday: Juan Pena, 17, of Jamaica Plain, a 16-year-old male from Roxbury, Jesse Hamilton, 19, and Ramon Martinez, 17, both of Jamaica Plain, and a 15-year-old male from Roslindale.
West Roxbury Gas Station Robbed
This morning at 3:20am, officers from District 5 responded to the Hess Gas Station at 5315 Washington Street on a report of an armed robbery. On arrival, the witness reported that the suspect showed a firearm to the victim and robbed the victim before fleeing on foot toward Ridgecrest Street. The suspect remains at large and District 5 detectives continue to investigate this incident.
Five Arrested in Hyde Park for Robbery
Officers from District 18 while patrolling at 3:24am this morning were approached by a victim stating she was just robbed at 1104 Hyde Park Avenue. The officers immediately broadcast a description of the suspect and the vehicle they fled in. Two other officers from District 18 observed a vehicle matching that description at River Street and Fairmount Avenue. The victim was transported to that location where she positively identified all five suspects. The victim reports that the suspect armed with a firearm robbed her and four others of their wallets and cell phones. Police arrested: Jaudel Calixte, 33, Widley Monvil, 23, and Americ Antonie, 22, all of Brooklyn NY, Sam Solito Meralus, 23 ,of Corona, NY and Kervins Francios, 27, of Dorchester. Recovered in the vehicle were the victim’s wallets, cells phone and cash. All five were charged with Armed Robbery.
