At about 2:51pm, officers from District 18 responded to 40 Dietz Road in Hyde Park for a report of two males armed with firearms that committed a home invasion and stole the victim’s motor vehicle. The officers spoke with the victims who stated that two Dominican males knocked on her door and demanded money. The suspects armed with a firearm and knife were lead to a bedroom where they opened a safe but according to the victim, did not take anything. The suspects then took the victim’s gold chain and keys to her husband’s motor vehicle and fled the area. The abandoned motor vehicle was recovered at the corner of Child Street and Gordon Avenue. While interviewing the victims in the residence, the officers observed ammunition as well as a small bag scale and items that are consistent with drug distribution. The officers secured the dwelling and applied for search warrants.Later in the day, detectives from District 18 along with members of the Area E Drug Control Unit executed a West Roxbury District Court search warrant at the address. Detectives recovered a tan colored safe, numerous rounds of ammunition, two scales, paperwork indicating drug transactions, three small bags of cocaine, a lap top computer, paperwork indicating money transactions and numerous plastic bags with white residue consistent with the packaging of large amounts of cocaine. A detective found a Pokemon stuffed animal in the basement, inside the doll was a hidden compartment where the detective recovered two large plastic bags of cocaine. Also recovered was over $1000.00 in United States Currency and boxes, box cutters, heat-sealing machines and seven large rolls of plastic bags.
The original victims of the home invasion were then placed under arrest. Detectives identified the suspects as Mayra Cuevas, 19, and Josefina Gonzalez, 25, both of Hyde Park. They will both be arraigned today in the West Roxbury Court and charged with Trafficking Class B Drug.
