Fugitive Arrested in RoxburyOfficers from District 2 arrested 34-year-old Steven Howard of Roxbury yesterday afternoon at 2102 Washington Street. The 6’1”, 210lbs suspect was wanted by the United States Marshall’s Service for Escape. The Marshall’s Office was notified and Howard remains in custody.
Knife Wielding Student Arrested After “He Said, She Said”
A 14-year-old female from Dorchester was arrested yesterday afternoon at 3:01pm at 47 Theodore Street in Mattapan. A 13-year-old female reported to police that she was walking home from the store when the suspect, armed with a knife, and additional friends attacked her. The officers observed scratches on her face, nose and ears. The victim states the attack occurred after a “he said, she said” incident that occurred in middle school yesterday. The officers broadcasted a description of the suspect; officers from District 3 located her. She was positively identified, the knife was recovered and she was arrested. She will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court today and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Lost Property in the Public Gardens
Yesterday afternoon at about 5:30pm, a 29-year-old male from Cambridge reported to police he was in the Boston Public Garden. After he left the area, he realized that he left his $3,000 laptop computer, $500 digital camera and $400 fountain pen. When he returned to where he was all the items were gone.
Attempted Robbery Results in Juvenile Arrests
A Northeastern University student was walking yesterday at St. Stephens Street and Symphony Road when two suspects attempted to rob him. He refused to give them his money and they threatened him with a knife. When the victim called for help, the two suspects fled. Boston Police were able to stop the suspects in front of Speare Place and the victim correctly identified them. The female suspects, a 15-year-old from Roxbury and a 17-year-old from Mattapan, were arrested and charged with Attempt to Commit and Crime to Wit: Armed Robbery.
Suspects Get Free Ride then Steal Cab
Early this morning around 2:30am, a cab driver walked into District 2 and reported that his cab was stolen at Ashmont Station in Dorchester. He picked up the two suspects at Central Square in Cambridge and transported them to Ashmont Station. While in the rear seats of the cab, the two suspects brandished a gun and told the cab driver to give them his money. They told him to get out of the car and he complied, while the two suspects moved to the front seats and drove off. The cab driver described the suspects as two black males; one of the suspects was about 6’5” with a heavy build and was wearing a black hoody and blue jeans. The other suspect was only described as having short hair. The cab that was stolen was a white Crown Victoria. Police are still looking for the suspects.
