Suspect Profiled on America’s Most Wanted Arrested in Brighton

\"2006_01_small.jpg\"Last night at about 9:00pm, Boston Officers assigned to District 14, District 3, the Youth Violence Strike Force and Special Operations Entry and Apprehension Team responded to 126 Warren Street in Brighton to execute an arrest warrant. The Entry and Apprehension Team Members proceeded to an apartment in the building and arrested Eric Salazar, 20, of Roxbury. A second suspect, Juan Hernandez, 27, of Roxbury, was also discovered in the apartment and was arrested after officers discovered he was wanted on outstanding warrants for firearm violations in Suffolk and Middlesex Superior Court.
Salazar was wanted by Boston Police for an incident that occurred on December 30, 2005 when he entered the Hip Zepi store located 614 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester and shot a 25-year-old male from Dorchester multiple times. The victim was treated and transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Salazar fled the scene and District 3 Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. This past February, John Walsh and his team from America’s Most Wanted profiled Eric Salazar on their television show. America’s Most Wanted has been working successfully with law enforcement agencies across the nation for the past two decades.
This morning a Brighton District Search Warrant was executed at 126 Warren Street where the two suspects were arrested. Officer recovered two firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition, as well as high capacity magazines, three bags of marijuana and an electronic scale.
Eric Salazar will be charged with the following Dorchester District Court and Suffolk Superior Court straight warrants for Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Firearm Possession without F.I.D. card. Salazar was also wanted on a Somerville District Court warrant for Assault and Battery, Unarmed Robbery, Larceny over $250, and Threats to Commit a Crime, a Dedham District Court warrant for Possession Class D, and Larceny over $250, a Concord District Court and Waltham District Court warrant for numerous Violations of the Auto Laws.
Juan Hernandez will be charged with outstanding warrants from Middlesex Superior and Suffolk Superior Court for Firearms Violations. He will also be charged with a third and subsequent firearm possession charge.
Both suspects will be additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D in a School Zone.
They will both be arraigned this morning in the Brighton District Court.
