At 8:00pm last night, officers from several districts responded to the area of 96 Fenway on a report of an armed robbery. While in the area, officers were informed via police radio, that other officers were chasing three males matching the suspect’s descriptions on nearby Ruggles Street.The foot chase ended in front of the Wentworth Institute of Technology with two of the three suspects caught hiding in bushes. The third suspect was caught walking across the street.
Officers spoke with an 18-year-old male victim who stated he was walking in front of 96 Fenway when three suspects wearing masks demanded his money while one pointed a firearm at him. After handing over a small amount of cash, the victim stated the suspects took off on foot.
Officers were then told of a second victim, a 19-year-old male, who stated that while he was walking in front of 10 Leon Street he was approached by three masked men, one armed with a gun, who demanded his portable CD player and then fled on foot.
Within minutes, officers learned of a third victim, an 18-year-old male, who stated he was approached by three masked men, one armed, while walking in the area of Evans Street and robbed of money.
All three robberies happened within minutes of each other.
Officers recovered a black Daisy Powerline BB gun from in front of Wentworth in the area where two of the suspects were apprehended as well as black masks from each of the suspects. Also recovered were cash and a portable CD player, which was returned to the victim. All three suspects, 19-year-old Joshua Pinet of Mission Hill, a 13-year-old Roxbury juvenile male and a 16-year-old Roxbury juvenile male, were identified by the victims and placed under arrest. Arraignment will be in Roxbury District Court.
