BPD in the Community: Before beginning their shift, officers assigned to the First Half at District E-18 (Hyde Park) received a special blessing from a local Pastor. This meaningful moment offered an opportunity to pause, reflect, and come together in faith before heading out to serve the community.
The nationally recognized Faith & Blue Initiative strengthens police-community bonds by uniting law enforcement, faith-based institutions and the community. The Boston Police Department has been an engaged, supportive and participating partner of this endeavor since its inception in 2020. Faith-based partnerships are a powerful motivator to addressing some of the community’s most challenging issues, including addressing violence, quality of life issues and building trust.
