At approximately 3:50 PM, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made an on-site arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of Franklin Park Road in Dorchester.
While on patrol, officers’ attention was drawn to an individual repeatedly grabbing the front of his waistband. Officers observed the individual make numerous efforts to hold his pants up as if they were being weighed down by a heavy object. Officers approached the individual who refused to make eye contact with them. As officers attempted to speak with the individual, he began removing items from his pocket and as he lifted his sweatshirt, officers observed the handle of a firearm. The firearm was secured and the suspect was taken into custody.
The firearm was determined to be a Glock 48 9mm loaded with nine rounds of live ammunition.
Officers arrested Zacarias Conception, 18-years-old, of Chelsea. Conception is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
