At about 5:02 PM, on Friday, July 12, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Patrick O’Neill, 29, of Boston, on robbery and assault charges.
Officers responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Shawmut Avenue for a report of an armed robbery in progress. Boston Police Operations advised officers that someone was getting robbed and a male suspect had a knife.
Upon arrival, officers observed two males fighting with each other. Officers observed the suspect to be holding a knife and ordered him to drop it which he complied. Officers quickly placed the suspect into handcuffs.
O’Neill was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Intent to Rob While Armed, and Assault and Battery. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
