Recently, Captain Richard Sexton and the officers from Area C-11 received a visit from a special group of youngsters looking to get down and dirty in their efforts to beautify the grounds surrounding the district station located at 40 Gibson Street in Dorchester.

Approximately 15 youngsters from Cub Scout Pack 28 and the James Rice Amvets Post initiated a landscaping community service project which involved the cleaning and mulching of the area out in front of the Area C-11 station.

Said Captain Sexton, “The kids did a tremendous job. The station looks great and we have the youngsters from Cub Scout Pack #28 to thank.” After the work was done, Captain Sexton treated the kids to pizza as a way of showing his appreciation for the great work done. The area in front of the station is home to a memorial dedicated in honor of deceased retired Detective Edwin Kennealy.
