Early this morning around 12:05AM, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) saw a motor vehicle traveling the wrong way on Poplar Street towards Washington Street.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the car at 4257 Washington Street, and approached the vehicle to further investigate. On nearing the vehicle, officers immediately detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. Further investigation revealed that both occupants of the car had active warrants. The female passenger, Yasmin Maalim, 20 of Dorchester was discovered to have outstanding warrants for Violation of a Restraining Order, Threat to Commit a Crime, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous and Destruction of Property. The male driver, Christopher S. Borgella, 19 of Mattapan was also arrested after he was found to have outstanding warrants for Shoplifting in addition to being cited for going wrong way one way.
