The Boston Police Department would like to thank Lieutenant Detective Merner for the outstanding contributions he has made in his time as a Deputy Superintendent. Under Lt. Det. Merner’s efforts, the clearance rates are up, the quality of the detectives training is enhanced and community relations with the public have improved. Lt. Detective Merner will now be commander for Area E5 (West Roxbury) and E18 (Hyde Park) detectives.
We would like to welcome Deputy Superintendent Kevin Buckley to the Boston Police Command Staff. Deputy Buckley has an excellent history in various assignments, which include the Drug Control Unit, Major Case and the Homicide Unit. Deputy Buckley’s work ethic and dedication is highly regarded by all Boston Police personnel and the Citizens of the City of Boston. Deputy Buckley will assume all responsibility formerly assigned to Deputy Superintendent Robert Merner including overall supervision of detectives throughout the city including the Homicide unit.
