MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT LANDS TWO IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW
At about 5:34pm, on Thursday, April 15, 2010, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the area of Adams & Lincoln Streets for a report of a fight. On arrival, officers observed a large group involved in a verbal altercation. Further, officers observed two motor vehicles which appeared to have been involved in a motor vehicle accident. According to one of the operators, herein referred to as operator #1, she was driving towards the intersection of Adams & Lincoln Streets when operator #2 struck her from behind. Operator #1 says when she pulled over to inspect damage and exchange papers, operator #2 exited her car in a fit of rage. As operator #2 approached, operator #1, seeing her anger, remained in her motor vehicle and locked the car doors. Operator #1 says operator #2 then re-entered her car and, again, attempted to strike her car. Officers observed damage to both cars. Operator #1’s car suffered rear end damage, while operator #2’s car had damage to its front end.
According to operator #2, she was driving her car along Adams Street when an individual exited the car in front of her, approached her car with a baseball bat and proceeded to smash her windshield. According to operator #2, she struck the operator #1’s car while attempting to avoid the man with the baseball bat. Operator #2 was able to identify the man with the baseball bat who was still on scene.
Officers arrested Shane Reed, 19, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Destruction of Property.
Officers charged (operator #2), 26, of Boston with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (car).
ALERT NEIGHBORS HELP POLICE ARREST TWO BREAKING INTO A CAR IN ROXBURY
At about 2:37am, on Friday, April 16, 2010, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a crime in progress in the area of 7 Dennison Street.
While en route to the call, officers learned that two males were trying to break into and steal a motor vehicle. On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who stated that he observed two Hispanic males attempting to break into his friend\’s car. The witness stated that his friend\’s car was parked in a private lot. The witness says that the suspects fled when outdoor security lights were triggered by the suspect’s movements. According to the witness, the suspects then fled in the direction of Haley Street. Officers observed the motor vehicle to have a smashed window and its hood up.
A search of the area enabled officers to locate two individuals sitting in a parked car on Haley Street. While approaching the car, officers observed an odd seating arrangement with one individual seated in the front seat while the other was seated in the back. Officers then brought the suspects back to the scene of the crime where they were positively identified by the witness.
Officers arrested Jael Romero, 19, of Boston and Emanuel Rosario, 19, of Boston and charged both with Trespassing and Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle (night).
