LOUD AFTER HOURS PARTY LANDS TWO MUSIC MAKERS IN HOT WATER

At about 12:23am, on Sunday, April 18, 2010, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) conducted a self-initiated investigation into an illegal after-hours party at 25 Astoria Street. Officers had responded to the address approximately three weeks previous for a loud party. At that time, officers informed those in attendance (specifically the DJ) that a second or future infraction could lead to not only arrests, but also the seizure of stereo equipment. Prior to showing up at the address, officers learned or had received information that the same individuals were planning or organizing a 2^nd party. Officers came to possess literature advertising the party. According to the literature, a group known as ‘Monsta Sound’ was planning an after-hours party that would run from 11:00pm to 4:00am on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

Prior to arriving at the location, detectives learned or confirmed that City of Boston Licensing Division had not been contacted nor had any permits been issued relative to the party at the above-mentioned location. Upon arriving at the location, officers observed several individuals or party-goers entering and exiting the location. Further, officers could hear loud music emanating from within the premise. While approaching the front door, officers observed and took notice of sign posted above the front door that read: “No Trespassing – Police Take Notice.” In an effort to gain entry to the location, officers proceeded to the rear of the location. After knocking on the back door several times, an unidentified female opened the door and immediately began complaining to the officers about a loud party that was taking place in the basement.

Upon entering the basement, officers observed approximately thirty individuals. Officers also heard what sounded like someone attempting to hide something while moving either floor or wall boards. Upon closer inspection, officers discovered that one of the party-goers was attempting to hide or conceal his stereo equipment. That individual turned out to be the same DJ who had been involved with the earlier party. Officers soon learned and discovered that there were, in fact, two disc jockeys present at the party. Both DJs’ (James Lewis, 21, of Boston and Kemar Henry, 17, of Boston) were charged with Disturbing the Peace. Moreover, officers seized and took possession of the DJ’s stereo equipment.

POLICE ARREST ONE FOR BEATING UP A BMW

At about 4:07am, on Sunday, April 18, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for male breaking into a white BMW in the area of 201 Washington Street. On arrival, officers observed a male who appeared to be intoxicated standing next to a white BMW in front of 226 Washington Street.  Officers noted and observed the vehicle to have a broken passenger side mirror, as well as, several dents and black scuff marks which could be observed on the front and rear passenger side doors.  Officers attempted to speak to the suspect, but, given the suspect’s level of inebriation, coherent dialogue was not an option. While on the scene, several witnesses approached the officers and stated that they had observed the suspect damage the car. Specifically, the witnesses stated that they observed the suspect punch and kick the car. According to the witnesses, the suspect thought the car may have been his. However, the suspect did not own the car.

Officers arrested Amado Morales, 26, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
