On March 29, 2010 at approximately 10:50am, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the rear of 451 Washington Street for a person shot. On arrival, officers located a male inside a car in the rear of 451 Washington Street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced at the scene.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Charles Cantave of Hyde Park.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit actively investigated the facts and circumstance of this incident and was able to develop sufficient evidence such that they were granted a warrant for the arrest of Mario H. Burns, 37, of Boston charging him with Being an Accessory after the Fact for his role in the murder of Charles Cantave. Today around 6PM, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit successfully tracked and arrested the suspect. The suspect will be arraigned at Dorchester District Court tomorrow, Friday, April 9, 2010.
