POLICE IN SOUTHIE ARREST TWO FOR ARMED ROBBERY

At about 11:54pm, on Sunday, March 21, 2010, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for an armed robbery in progress in the area of E. 8th Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she was walking down the street when two individuals approached, showed a firearm and demanded money.

While en route to the call, responding officers learned that the suspects (2 black males) were running away from the scene in the direction of Old Colony Ave and Preble Circle. As a result of the preceding information, responding officers made their way towards that area. Once there, officers observed two individuals who fit the description of the suspects. As officers approached, one of the individuals tossed what appeared to be a woman’s pocketbook or bag. The other suspect, meantime, kept clutching at his waist area in such a way as to suggest he was in possession of a weapon. While officers were speaking to the suspects, the victim was brought to the scene. Once there, the victim stated, “That’s them.” A search of the suspects enabled officers to locate and seize a black firearm.

Officers arrested Guillermo Rodriguez, 27, of Boston and Delshaun Bloodworth, 21, of Boston and charged both with Armed Robbery.
