UPDATE:

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR 87 ROSSETER STREET HOMICIDE

Last night, January 15, 2009, at approximately 9:17pm, Boston Police Officers assigned out of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, arrested Omay Tavares, 20, of Dorchester for the murder of George Thompson.
On January 7, 2010 at 8:47pm, officers from C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 87 Rosseter Street, Dorchester for shots fired.

While officers were en-route, The Boston Police Operations Center advised them that the call had been updated for a person shot. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that the individual shot was within the residence of 87 Rosseter Street. Officers then entered the Rosseter Street apartment and located a black male (early twenties) suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. Boston EMS was called to the scene and the victim was pronounced.
Since the death of Mr. Thompson, The Boston Police Homicide Unit and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office launched a tireless investigation to bring justice to Mr. Thompson and his family.

The suspect, Omay Tavares, will be arraigned Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Dorchester District Court on the charges of Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
