UPDATE TO DEATH INVESTIGATION AT 7 EDSON STREET

Homicide Victim IdentifiedInvestigators Urge Community Members to Come Forward With Information
On Sunday, September 20, 2009, at approximately 3:49am, Boston Police Officers assigned out of Area B-3 (Mattapan), responded to the area of 7 Edson Street for reports of shots fired. Several calls were received stating that a large group of people were congregating in the area when several shots were heard. While officers were enroute, they were informed that a person had been shot.
Upon arrival, Officers located four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to various Boston area hospitals for treatment.
The victim was later pronounced at Brigham & Women’s Hospital as a result of his gunshot wounds. He has been identified as Carl Hentz Belizaire, 21, of Mattapan.
The three other victims are suffered non-life threatening injuries. At this time, they are only being described as a 26 year-old male (The Carney Hospital), a 40 year-old male (Boston Medical Center), and a 19 year-old female (Boston Medical Center).
Preliminary information indicates that Carl Belizaire was the intended target of this incident and that the additional victims were unintended targets.
