Victim of Home Invasion Follows Suspect Until Police ArriveOn Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at approximately 2:19pm, officers assigned out of Area C-11 (Dorchester), responded to 26 Bloomfield Street for a report of a breaking & entering in progress.
While en-route, officers were advised by dispatch that the homeowner was following the suspect of the B&E as he walked on Geneva Avenue. Officers proceeded to the area of Geneva and located the victim. He gave officers a description of the suspect and informed them that he entered the convenience store at 385 Geneva Avenue. Officers were able to locate an individual fitting the description within the store and the victim positively identified him as the person that broke into his home.
The victim went on to inform officers that he came home and observed an individual in his house wearing a backpack holding a knife. The victim confronted the suspect and attempted to get the suspects backpack for he believed it contained his belongings. The suspect then waved the knife at the victim and fled. The victim followed the suspect as he walked away. At one point, the suspect handed the backpack to the victim and stated, “just take your stuff…I don’t want it”. The victim continued to follow the suspect until the police arrived.
Officers arrested Eddie Ray Smith, 19, of Boston on the charges of Home Invasion and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
Car Breaker Caught by Dog Walker
On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at approximately 10:24pm, an individual came into the front desk of Area D-4 to report a man breaking into vehicles. The reporting party stated she was walking her dog in the area of the Plympton Street lot when she observed a black male, wearing dark clothing with a fur hood, breaking into several cars.
Officers responded to the area of the Plympton Street lot and observed a male fitting the description standing near a vehicle with it’s doors open. Upon seeing officers, the suspect dropped two screwdrivers to the ground. Officers observed the contents of two vehicles to be strewn about.
Officers arrested Raul Morales, 35, of Boston on the charges of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Bulgarious Tools.
Caught in the Act with No Defense!!
Around 5:00PM last night, February 11, 2009, officers from District D-4 (South End) were on patrol near the intersection of Lenox and Fellows Streets when they heard someone yelling.
Officers quickly made their way toward the location of the yelling and there observed a male stomping on something on the ground next to a short cement wall. Officers got closer to the stomping male, and then saw that there was a victim lying on his back getting kicked and stomped by the suspect. The victim was semi-conscious and not resisting the suspect’s assault. Officers quickly exited their cruiser and ordered the suspect to stop his assault on the victim. The suspect, despite the officers’ orders, continued to kick the semi-conscious victim until officers pulled the suspect off of the victim. The suspect violently struggled with officers until he was placed in handcuffs.
The suspect, Roberto Sagui, 27, of Boston was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Resisting Arrest. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
