Stabbing Incident at 71 Kingsdale StreetYesterday evening around 5:36PM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to 71 Kingsdale St. in Dorchester for a person stabbed.
On arrival, officers responded to the listed apartment and there observed a 28-year-old male suffering from a severe stab wound to the abdomen and bleeding severely. Officers then observed a woman, later identified as the victim’s sister, attempting to control the bleeding by holding a shirt over the victim’s wound. Officers immediately requested EMS to attend to the victim’s injuries.
While the other officers were inside speaking to the victim and witnesses, officers outside encountered a man exiting a laundry room about ten yards from the victim’s apartment. This male was breathing heavily and sweating as he exited the laundry room. Officers then observed that this male had a bloodstain on his sweatshirt, and on both his hands. Two witnesses then told officers on scene that this male had not done anything, so he was nor arrested but held for questioning.
The victim was transported to Boston Medical center with life threatening injuries while officers remained on scene to further investigate the incident. During further investigation, officers found a bloodstained knife in the laundry room that the male with the blood on his hands had been seen exiting. Officers then interviewed the victim’s sister who told them that she and the suspect male from the laundry room (her boyfriend) had been involved in a fight and he had assaulted her by punching her in the face. The suspect, Rayshaun A. Moore, 23, of Quincy was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Ongoing investigation of the incident by district detectives and officers subsequently revealed that suspect Moore had stabbed the victim. He was then additionally charged with Assault with Intent to Murder.

This morning around 12:18AM, officers from District B-2 (Dorchester) arrested suspect, Walter R. Mains, 29, of Boston and charged him with Malicious Destruction of Property, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Class B, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute, and Fare Evasion.
Moments before the suspect was arrested, a Boston cab pulled into the parking lot at B-2 to request police assistance for a passenger refusing to pay his fare. As officers walked towards the cab, the suspect kicked and smashed the rear passenger side window of the cab. Officers then spoke to both parties and learned that the suspect had gotten into the cab at Ashmont Station and told to go a first location then redirected to the Dudley MBTA Station. On arrival at the station, the cab driver asked for payment and was told by the passenger, “I’ll get you tomorrow!” After stating this, the suspect then re-entered the cab and asked to be taken to another location. At this point the cab driver drove across the street to the police station.
The suspect at that point was placed under arrest for Malicious Destruction of Property, Disorderly Conduct and Fare Evasion. During a search incident to lawful arrest, officer recovered several bags of marijuana and crack cocaine on his person leading to additional charges related to these items. As a result of the above charges, officers seized $1,749.00 from the suspect as forfeiture money from drug proceeds.
