BOSTON POLICE CONDUCT INTERNAL INVESTIGATION REGARDINGALLEGATION OF MISUSE OF POLICE RESOURCES
The Boston Police Department is investigating a claim that an officer misused police resources by providing an unauthorized escort. Allegations were made that on October 24, 2008, an officer used a department vehicle to escort a civilian vehicle from Logan Airport to the Roxy nightclub in Boston.
Police Commissioner Edward Davis stated, “These are troubling allegations at a time when resources are stretched thin. The department is taking this matter very seriously and it will be fully investigated.”
The officer involved has been transferred from his current assignment and placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
