Speedy and Efficient Response Lands Two Juveniles in JailYesterday afternoon around 4:18PM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested two 16-year-old juvenile suspects, one from Mattapan and the other from Dorchester and charged them with Unarmed Robbery. In addition to the above charges, one of the suspects was found to have marijuana on his person and charged with Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon for a double-edged stiletto knife found on his person.
Shortly before the arrest, the victim walked into District B-3 and reported to officers that three to five young black males had just robbed him of his cell phone. The victim reported that he was waiting for his younger sister to get off the bus at the intersection of Blue Hill Ave. and Deering Road. The victim further reported that initially he was approached by young male who stated, “Yo! Give me back my Playstation!” The victim reported that he told the suspect that he did not know what he was talking about and the suspect walked away and into a house on Deering Street. The victim reported that the suspect then came out with three other males, walked towards him and went through his pockets and stole his cell phone.
Officers then placed the victim into the cruiser in an attempt to look for the suspects. While circling the area, officers were directed to a nearby restaurant where two of the suspects were found and positively identified by the victim. After being placed under arrest, officers then found marijuana and a knife deemed under a dangerous weapon under Massachusetts’s law.
Five Arrested after Assaulting Officers
On Thursday, February 5, 2009, officers assigned out of Area D-4 (South End) responded to 30 San Juan Street for a report of a possible assault. D-4 officers are familiar with the parties of this residence for they have responded there numerous times in the recent past.
Upon officer’s arrival, they were greeted by a male who answered the door and stated, “There is nothing going on here…why are you here?” Fearing for the safety of one of the residents within, officers conducted a protective sweep of the apartment. Officers located numerous people within the apartment and all parties denied fighting or causing a disturbance. Officers also detected an odor of burning marijuana. The residents continued to be aggressive towards officers and stated, “If you guys didn’t have your badges on…” Officers then exited the property and returned to the station in order to draft a report outlining the details of the incident.
Within short time, officers received two additional calls reporting a loud disturbance at the same location. Officers returned and were invited in by the homeowner. Officers observed four young males within the residence and ask one of them his name. He became angered and stated, “who the #### are you”? He then stood and pointed his finger in the officer’s face. Officers then attempted to place the suspect into custody, and while doing so, the other individuals within the apartment interfered with and assaulted the officers.
Officers arrested Manuel Cordero, 18, of Boston, Samuel Navarro, 17, of Boston, Noubar Hussein, 17, of Boston, Asmahan Sheikhou, 33, of Boston and a 14-year-old juvenile from Boston on charges of Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Disturbing the Peace.

Early this morning around 12:52AM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) were on patrol in the area of Stuart and Washington Streets when they observed an altercation between two males in front of 25 Stuart Street.
Officers were parked at the light at the intersection when they observed an apparent struggle between two parties. Officers observed one of the parties to the altercation appear to grab something out of the other party’s hand and flee into the front passenger seat of a nearby car pursued by the other male. Officers then observed one male chase the car the other male jumped in as it took off, al the while banging on the car window.
Officers, having witnessed this scenario, stopped the car a short distance from where the accident had taken place to further investigate what they had just observed. Officers spoke to both parties and learned that the male that had been pursuing the car had been robbed. Per the victim, he was approached by the suspect in front of 25 Stuart St. and asked him for $9.00 for gas. The victim stated that he pulled out his wallet to give the suspect a few dollars when the suspect grabbed a $100.00 bill from him and attempted to run into a nearby waiting vehicle. The victim stated that he ran after the suspect and when the suspect saw the nearby police car, he dropped the money and fled in the car.
Officers then attempted to place the suspect, Carneal Miller, 39, of Dorchester under arrest for Unarmed Robbery at which point the suspect violently resisted, kicking officers resulting in additional charges of Resisting Arrest, and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
