POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH AN ARMED ROBBERY IN THE SOUTH ENDAt about 12:55am, on Thursday, October 16, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of Dartmouth & Tremont Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was walking down the street when three Hispanic males approached. According to the victim, one of the suspects showed a gun and stated, “Give me everything you got.” The victim says he then handed over all of his money to the suspects. Witnesses tell officers the suspects fled the area in a silver car. Officers immediately broadcast a description of the motor vehicle over the police radio.
In short time, officers located a motor vehicle, matching the description provided by witnesses, in the area of Herald and Albany Streets. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. Given the possibility of the presence of a weapon inside the motor vehicle, officers instructed the occupants to exit the car. A search of the car enabled officers to locate a firearm lying under the driver’s side front seat. While the suspects were being detained, the victim was brought to the scene in order to positively identify the suspects. Once on scene, the victim was able to positively identify the suspects.
Officers arrested Antonio Ruiz, 20, of Lynn; Jehiel Rosario, 19, of Lynn; Hector Morales, 20, of Peabody and Harold Rosario, 19, of Lynn and charged all four with Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
VANDALS DAMAGE CITY OWNED MOTOR VEHICLES DOWNTOWN
At about 11:34am, on Thursday, October 16, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) reported to the area of Devonshire and State Streets for a vandalism report. On arrival, officers spoke to members of the Boston Transportation Department who stated that twelve of their motor vehicles had been vandalized the night before. Specifically, Boston Transportation Department employees stated that each of the twelve vehicles had a flattened tire. Most of the vehicles were towed to 400 Frontage Road for further evaluation.
The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact detectives assigned to Area A-1 (Downtown) at (617) 343-4248.
