TWO UNARMED ROBBERS ARRESTED IN THE AREA OF HUMBOLDT AVEAt about 8:40pm, on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were flagged down by an individual in the area of Cheney Street. When officers stopped, the individual stated that he had just been jumped. According to the victim, he was walking down the street (Humboldt Avenue) when three individuals approached, punched him, knocked him to the ground and stole his backpack and his wallet. During the course of the robbery, the victim says the suspects repeatedly kicked and punched him. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. In short time, officers located individuals matching the description of the suspects in the area of 205 Humboldt Avenue. The victim was transported to the location where the suspects were being detained. Once there, the victim was able to positively identify two of the suspects.
Officers arrested Dennis Wilson, 20, of Dorchester and a 16 year-old male from Boston and charged both with Unarmed Robbery and Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (foot).
MAN IN POSSESSION OF LOADED GUN ARRESTED IN ROXBURY
At about 10:45pm, on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area Orchard Park when officers observed a large group of kids. While monitoring the group, officers observed an individual who appeared to be carrying a firearm. Specifically, officers observed the suspect repeatedly grabbing at an object in his waist area in such a way as to suggest he was in possession of a firearm. Given the suspect’s suspicious behavior, officers began to watch the suspect more closely. While observing the suspect, officers observed the suspect reach for his cell phone. When the suspect reached for his phone, which was situated inside a cell phone holder on his belt, officers observed what looked like the handle of a firearm. Upon seeing the handle of the firearm, officers approached the suspect. Seeing the officers approach, the suspect took off on foot. After a lengthy foot pursuit, officers were able to locate the suspect hiding in the area of Howard Place. When officers searched the suspect, the suspect was no longer in possession of the firearm. However, a search of the immediate area, tracing the steps of the foot pursuit, enabled officers to locate a silver-colored firearm.
Officers arrested Daquan Dooley, 19, of Hyde Park and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way.
DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEE CHARGED WITH VANDALIZING CARS BELONGING TO HIS EMPLOYER
At about 12:49pm, on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a vandalism report at the Herb Chambers Auto Dealership located at 1168 Commonwealth Ave. On arrival, officers spoke to dealership employees who informed officers that on the evening of September 29, 2008, four motor vehicles had been vandalized on dealership property. Damage to the vehicles included smashed windshields, broken mirrors and multiple dents and scratches. The employees further stated that a police report had been filed on that day. However, upon viewing video surveillance of the incident the day after, employees stated that a dealership employee can be seen on the video vandalizing the cars. Officers then observed the video. After doing such, officers were directed to the suspected employee.
Preston Clark, 22, of Lynn was arrested and charged with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property (over $250.00).
