On Tuesday September 16, 2008 at about 7:45pm the Boston Police Homicide Unit were requested to respond to 1391 River Street in Hyde Park for a person not breathing in the parking lot of the Polish American Club.The victim, a 62 year old white male, was rushed to Brigham and Women\’s and is currently listed in critical condition. Hospital Staff and Boston Health and Hospital personnel stated that the victim most likely suffered a heart attack. The victim also had visible scrapes and abrasions to his face, and scrapes and abrasions to his hands and knees.
Witnesses at the scene indicated to detectives that the victim had engaged in an altercation with another individual within the Polish American Club. Based on interviews and evidence gathered at the scene, officers placed Paul Nemes, 58, of Norwood under arrest and charged him with Assault & Battery Serious Injury.
