Boston Police Seeking Public’s AssistanceTo Locate Home Invasion Suspect
Today at 8:18am, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 1 Buttonwood Ct. in Dorchester for an elderly woman assaulted during an apparent home invasion. On arrival, officers spoke to a family member who reported that the victim, who had been assaulted while in the house alone, had been transported to the Boston Medical Center via ambulance.
Officers spoke to the victim’s grandson and discovered that the 87 year-old female victim was home alone when she heard a knock at her door. The suspect requested to use the victim’s phone. According to the victim, the suspect was allowed into her home, given a glass of water, and used the telephone.
The suspect then, according to victim, assaulted her by hitting her over the head with a household object. The victim was knocked unconscious by the suspect’s attack. The victim soon gained consciousness and attempted to leave the apartment but was prevented from doing so by the now knife-wielding suspect. The suspect fled a short while later after rummaging through the house for jewelry and other valuables.
The police were subsequently called when a passerby observed the victim standing in her doorway bleeding. Officers later spoke to a witness who reported that the same suspect had also confronted her. The suspect also knocked on her door and asked to use her telephone shortly before the above reported incident.
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
· White non-Hispanic female
· Age: Mid-30\’s to early 40\’s
· Shoulder length brown hair
· About 5’5”in height with a medium build
· Wearing a long brown-colored jacket
· A cast on her right foot (foot possibly broken)
Officers canvassed the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The Boston Police Department is actively investigating this incident and is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect involved.
