Road Rage Leads to Arrest for Warrants and DrugsLast night, Monday, September 10, 2007, around 6:57pm, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) were on patrol in the area of Wheatland and Spencer Streets when they were flagged down an elderly driver. The elderly driver directed the officers’ attention to a car directly behind her car and stated that the car was being driven in an aggressive manner.
Officers stopped the motor vehicle and requested of its operator his license and registration. The operator stated that he could not find his license. The officer then exited his motor vehicle, pushed the officer who had just asked for his license and fled on foot, abandoning his vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect, caught him and placed him under arrest after a brief foot pursuit. During an inventory search of the suspect’s vehicle, officers recovered one plastic bag of marijuana and an open bottle of vodka.
The suspect, Keith A. Jordan, 22, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Suspension/Revocation, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Possession of Class D, and cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Alcohol. Subsequent to arrest, officers found additional marijuana on the suspect during the booking process, and determined that the suspect had numerous outstanding warrants including warrants for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Being Licensed, Possession of Class D (marijuana) with Intent to Distribute.
Warrant Arrest Leads to Drugs
Today around 12:12am, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of 8 Park Plaza when they observed a large group of people loitering. Based on past experience with this area, officers stopped to investigate when they immediately recognized a member of this group as having an outstanding warrant. As the crowd dispersed, the wanted suspect tried to make good his escape by merging into the dispersing crowd.
Officers stopped the wanted suspect and placed him under arrest for the warrant. While officers were placing the suspect in handcuffs, they observed the suspect drop a folded napkin that opened up to reveal seven small plastic bags believed to be crack cocaine.
The suspect, Johnnie Williams, 36, of Lynn was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant for Receiving Stolen Property, and additionally charged with Possession of Class B, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute in a School Zone. Officers seized three cell phones from the suspect along with a sum of money.
Car Thieves Caught in the Act
About 12:32am this morning, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a crime in progress at 25 Brinsley Street. Officers were advised that the caller had observed three individuals stealing a tire from a car.
On arrival, officers observed two males standing nest to the described car and another walking away. The three individuals were stopped and questioned as to their purpose, to which they gave conflicting statements. Officers observed a car jack placed under the car, and the lug nuts removed. Officers ascertained that the suspect had driven a car to that location and observed that their car had a “donut” for attire and that there was another jack in the front seat of the suspects’ car.
The suspects, Julien G. Suero, 18, of Braintree, David Cuevas, 19, and Nathaniel Cuevas both of Dorchester were arrested and charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Larceny of Motor Vehicle Parts. After being placed under arrest, during an inventory search of the suspects’ car, officers found a large cinder block, a tire iron and an additional jack.
