At approximately 2:51pm yesterday, Monday, September 10, 2007, officers from District B-2 responded to a radio call for shots fired at 249 Ruggles Street. En route, officers were informed that a Northeastern University police officer was in pursuit of two individuals suspected of firing the shots. Numerous officers joined in the foot pursuit of the suspects as they ran down Ruggles St. across Tremont St. and made their way to Melnea Cass Boulevard. MBTA, Northeastern and Boston police officers all pursued the suspects catching one suspect at the intersection of Melnea Cass Blvd. and Tremont Street.The second suspect was lost during the foot pursuit but officers did recover a firearm along the path that the second suspect had fled.
Investigation thus far has revealed that this incident was the result of an argument between a group of teens at the Ruggles MBTA station.
