Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Police Commissioner Ed Davis to present awards to Boston Youth for the National NightOut “Unity Through Community” Poster Contest.

The contest theme was “Unity Through Community.” The Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit believes that the key to safer neighborhoods lies in cooperation among neighbors, police, businesses, churches, and community based organizations. If we as residents continue to reach out and watch out for each other, neighbor-to-neighbor, both young and old, we can and will make this a better city to live in, work in and enjoy. This contest is one of the ways the Boston Police Department involves Boston\’s youth in a positive strategy.WHO: Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Police Commissioner Ed Davis will present the winners with their prizes, while their families, teachers, Police Service Officers and other city officials applaud them.
WHAT: The Boston Police Department Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit will honor Twenty-six Boston students who won prizes in the Annual National Night Out Poster Contest. The luncheon and awards ceremony will be held on
