DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, JULY 21, 2007

SIX LESS GUNS IN SOUTH BOSTONAt about 5:23pm, on Friday, July 20, 2007, members of the Area C Neighborhood Drug Unit (South Boston/Dorchester) executed a warrant at 170 W. 9th Street in South Boston. The warrant was issued relative to an arrest made at that location earlier in the day. At about 9:45am, officers arrested Paul O’Brien, 57, of South Boston and charged him with the Distribution of Class B Drugs (Oxycontin). After searching the location, officers recovered six firearms, as well as, ammunition. As a result of the findings, officers charged O’Brien with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition.
STOLEN CAR RECOVERED IN DORCHESTER
At about 1:25am, on Saturday, July 21, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Bowden and Quincy Streets. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an effort to stop the car. After a brief pursuit, officers observed the occupants of the motor vehicle (the operator and his passenger) exit the car and flee. Officers were able to catch the operator of the car. A check of the motor vehicle’s registration thru the cruiser’s mobile data terminal (the computer inside the police cruiser) revealed that the car in question was stolen. Officers arrested Manuel Monteiro, 20, of Dorchester, and charged him with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
