ARMED ROBBER ARRESTED IN JAMAICA PLAINAt about 11:34am, on Friday, July 6, 2007, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) pulled over to assist an individual claiming she had just been robbed. According to the victim, the suspect, an individual known to her, asked her for a ride. As she was about to drop him off, the suspect showed her a firearm and took her money. While talking to the officers, suspect pointed to a parked motor vehicle she believed the suspect climbed into. Officers approached the car and located the suspect. Officers arrested Kendall Petty, 41, of Roxbury, and charged him with Armed Robbery.
WRONG PLACE TO TAKE A LEAK
At about 9:40pm, on Friday, July 6, 2007, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) observed an individual urinating in the area of Day Square in East Boston. The above suspect was urinating in an area where pedestrian and vehicle traffic was heavy. When officers approached the suspect, officers detected a heavy odor of alcohol. Officers then arrested Jose Vanegas, 51, of Malden, and charged him with Indecent Exposure.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
At about 4:35pm, on June 24, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) took a report from an individual stating he had been robbed at knifepoint. According to the victim, a white female approached him while he was standing in front of his home, and said to him, “come here and I’ll show you something.” When the victim followed her, an unknown black male came from behind him, showed a knife and demanded his money. Both suspects, the white female and black male, then fled the scene.
Approximately two weeks later, around 5:17pm, on Friday, July 6, 2007, the above victim called police after observing, in the area of Dudley Street, the two suspects who had robbed him back on June 24, 2007. Officers responded to the location where they were met by the victim. Once on scene, officers were able to locate the suspects. After being positively identified by the victim, Giselle Murphy, 25, of Dorchester, and, Jerome Young, 34, of Dorchester, were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
