Gun Possession Lands One In JailLast night at 10:58pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers from District B-3 responded to area of Wildwood Street for a report of a large group causing a disturbance on Marden Street. As officers turned onto Wildwood Street they hear loud music coming from the area of Middleton Street and Theodore Street. As officers approached the group on foot a male who was on a bicycle began to peddle in the opposite direction, while the rest of the group continued walking towards officers. Officers followed behind the male cutting through open backyards. As officers approached the suspect he attempted to strike an officer in the face with his forearm.
Darwin Jones, 28, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B within 1000ft of a School Zone, Possession of Class d, Resisting Arrest and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer. Officers did recover a firearm and drugs from the suspect.
Two Arrested After Taking A Dog For A Walk
At 12:30am, officers from District A-7 were on patrol when a hysterical victim approached them and stated someone just stole her brown and black boxer from in front of Walgreen’s. The victim stated she secured her dog Bella to a pole while she went into Walgreen’s and returned moments later to find her dog gone. Officers drove the victim around in the area in an attempt to locate the dog.
Officers were approached by a male who stated that he observed a white female and a white male wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and glasses running down Meridian Street with a brown and black boxer. Witness further stated that they observed the female with the dog go into an address on Meridian Street. Officers observed the white male matching the description and conducted a threshold inquiry. The suspect stated that he and his friend just took the dog for a walk.
Officers proceeded to the third floor and heard loud barking coming from inside one of the apartments. Officers knocked on the door and observed the victim’s dog inside the apartment. The female suspect stated she only wanted to take the dog for a walk. Thomas McEachern, 50, of Bedford and Diane Kratman, 42, of East Boston were both arrested and charged with larceny Over $250.
Suspect Arrested After Scaling Brick Wall
This morning around 1:00am, officers from District E-5 responded to a radio call for someone climbing up to a second floor window at 181 Georgetown Drive. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated while entertaining guest their attention was drawn to the living room window where they observed a male looking into the window. The victim stated they called police and several guest ran outside and observed the suspect jumping from the window ledge. Robert Stephens, 34, of Norwood was arrested and charged with Attempted Breaking and Enter and Disorderly Person.
