Murder Suspect in Custody

Police Still Seeking Second Suspect Today at about 2:20pm, members of the Boston Police Fugitive & Apprehension Unit, Homicide Unit, United States Marshals, State Police and District C-11 successfully affected the arrest of Jovan Adams, 22, of Dorchester. Mr. Adams will be arraigned on Thursday morning in Dorchester District Court.
After a thorough and exhaustive investigation of the incident, Homicide detectives applied for and were granted arrest warrants for Jovon Adams, 22, of Dorchester and Taquise Johnson, 18, of Roxbury. Adams and Johnson are wanted in connection with the murder of Mr. Andrade and the shooting of the female victim.
At approximately 5:15 pm, on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for shots fired on Ames Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located two victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim later identified as, Cordeiro Andrade, 20, of Roxbury, succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Boston Medical Center. The second victim, a female, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators are making every effort to locate and apprehend the second suspect. Below please find his description. At this time, we are unable to release photo due to eyewitness identification issues.
