PURSE SNATCHER SNATCHED UP DOWNTOWNAt about 5:36pm, on Saturday, June 30, 2007, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a larceny near Hanover Street. On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who stated that he watched the suspect steal a wallet out of the victim’s purse. When the witness questioned the suspect about the incident, the suspect replied, ”Oh, I just bumped into her.” When officers arrived, they arrested Michael Smith, 47, of Jamaica Plain, and charged him with Larceny from a Person (purse snatch). A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover personal papers and monies belonging to the victim.
HOME INVASION LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS IN DORCHESTER
At about 9:57pm, on Saturday, June 30, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a home invasion at 92 Pleasant Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated two individuals, both known to him, forced their way into his home and robbed him. According to the victim, one of the suspects threatened him with a knife. Victim was able to provide a name and address of one of the suspects, and a physical description of the other. Officers went to the address provided by the victim. Once on scene, officers observed two individuals fitting the description provided by the victim. Officers then brought the two suspects back to a location where the victim was able to positively identify both suspects. Officers then arrested James Diamond, 44, of Randolph, and Robert McMaster, 44, of Dorchester, and charged both with Home Invasion.
