At about 9:30pm on Friday, June 22, 2007, members of the Boston Police Fugitive & Apprehension Unit and the Chicopee Police Department who were working under the direction of the Homicide unit successfully affected the arrest of Patrick Mayhew, 20, of Dorchester. Mayhew was captured in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Mayhew will be arraigned on Monday June 25, 2007 at Dorchester District Court.At about 1:40 pm, on Thursday, June 21, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a man shot at 27 Nottingham Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers observed Joseph Smith, 39, of Dorchester suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced.
